Self Contained (Animation)

This is a procedural 3D video loop. To me it's a representation of a self contained entity – a metropolis, getting charged up from the sky, dynamic, yet limited in its perimeter.
The challenge was getting the mesh displacement noise right using Geo Nodes in Blender and figuring out how to light it. Making it black and white was a last-minute decision as I liked the dramatic effect it added to the whole piece.
I composited it in After Effects and added some music and sound effects I found on Artlist.
